  Should of listened to the reviews there is a reason why everyone is using turbo tax. This place is very unhelpful after u file its all automated

  This office gave me the exactly wrong advice regarding what taxes I owe. I live in another state but was paid through UF, and there was some question on whether I owe income tax to the state I'm a resident in. Three or four professionals confidently gave me the same advice that no, because I paid by UF, I do not owe income tax anywhere. Turns out they were wrong, which is fine I suppose, no one's perfect and it happens. But I didn't find this out until after tax day, and so of course I incurred a penalty. Since HR Block gave me the advice, I reached out to see if they would compensate me. The response I got: "the advice was free so there is no attachment of a guarantee of penalties and interest... 'At this point there is nothing we can do.' " !!! So because I wasn't a paying customer (btw I would've been had they told me the correct advice that I owe), they could tell me absolutely anything and they're not liable? I suppose technically that's true, but this is awful customer relations and I'll never go to this company again. I didn't even get an apology for this bad experience that they freely admit was their fault. I hope this might be helpful to someone out there.
